By ensuring a holistic approach to maths, science and language skills, our programmes are designed to successfully transition our youth from high school to university level and beyond. In combining educational opportunities with skills development and mentoring, our goal is to change the lives of our youth both personally and professionally, giving them the tools, confidence and knowledge, they need to transform their economic outcomes.

SCHOLARSHIPS
The Trust takes pride in walking a long journey with its beneficiaries, most of whom we have known since Grade 10! With this bond comes a sense of responsibility towards our learners, and shared pride in their successes and accomplishments. For this reason, our scholarship programme is designed to be as comprehensive as possible, covering tuition, accommodation, meals, a stipend and learning resources (textbooks and a laptop) to enable our beneficiaries to study online and improve their research capabilities.
More than this, our intimate understanding of the complexities of academic studies enables us to offer relevant student support, mentoring and guiding our beneficiaries to give them the best possible chance of realising their dreams.
Supported fields of study
Given the Trust’s beginnings as an organisation founded by the energy sector, specifically oil and petrochemicals, we remain committed to growing and developing talent aligned to the in-demand skills and qualifications of this evolving sector and beyond.
As such, we support STEM disciplines and encourage our high school learners to excel in these areas and English to improve their chances of entering university. Our current scholarship partner universities include WITS, UJ, UP and UFH, with funding given to beneficiaries studying commerce and STEM subjects, including science, engineering (chemical, mechanical and technical), technology and mathematical sciences.

At the Trust, we see our role as helping and guiding our beneficiaries along each of these steps towards not just their chosen careers, but their ultimate goals for the future – for themselves, their families and their communities as a whole.

Our Students
Thanks to the tenacity of our students and the additional support that programmes like ours provide, many of our students are now studying for formal qualifications at tertiary institutions, with still more successfully enrolled in our skills development programmes.
