Ms. Yvonne N. Themba
An accomplished human resources and talent management professional with 15 years of executive management experience, Ms Yvonne Themba is a solutions-based strategist who transforms organisations through tailoring change management programmes and continuous improvement initiatives that align with company requirements, compliance and long-term business goals.
Ms Themba is currently the Chief People Officer at McDonald’s South Africa. Prior to this, she was the managing director of her own HR consultancy, Themba Infrastructure Projects (TIP). Established in 2016, this fully female-owned business has managed HR strategy development, work culture embedding, retrenchment outplacement solutions and board management projects for the Shanduka Group, Phembani Group, Pfortner Solutions and Black Umbrellas. Currently, the trustee of Mabindu Business Development Trust (MBDT) and the Cyril Ramaphosa Foundation (CRF) and a number of its implementing entities such as the Adopt-A-School Foundation (AAS) and KTS, Ms Themba is also a board member of Pan African Resources (PAR), a sustainable, safe, high-margin and long-life mid-tier gold producer in South Africa.
Further to this, she also serves on the subcommittees of the abovementioned boards, with a special emphasis on chairing the Remuneration Committees (PAR & CRF), and is a member of the Ethics Committee (PAR) and the Finance Committee (AAS).
In November 2021, Ms Themba became a Chartered Director SA (CD (SA)), accredited by the Institute of Directors SA (IoDSA). She holds a BA (SS) in Economics & Accounting from the University of Botswana, and an MBA from WITS Business School.
